So Many Things to Accomplish, Only 358 Days to Do Them

January 7, 2011

So far I am on track with the biggest goal I have. I was thinking of getting some hot chocolate this morning (yum) on the way to work. Instead, I resisted! I mean, it's only hot chocolate, but it would have kept me warm while I walked in the freezing cold. Anyway, I avoided that temptation and walked straight to work from the gym.
Tonight I had to get a cap put on over one of my teeth. The dentist first did a root canal, and in here in Korea it takes more than one visit to complete that. I've been to the dentist about 5-7 times now. (I've lost count.) Here's the cool bling factor. The cap on my tooth is made out of real gold! Ha ha. I'm not sure on how many karats, but it's shiny. I'm just grateful that it doesn't really show when I smile since it's on one of my back teeth.
I hope everyone's new year has been off to a great start! I cannot believe it's ALREADY January 7th!!! Talk about time flying by! Do you know what this means? I'll be 26 in 10 days!!! *jaw drop* I can't believe I'm over a quarter of a century old already. Too bad I feel like I haven't completed everything I'd like to, but alas, that's what this year is for! So many goals and only 358 days left to do them all!
I used to want to avoid getting older in the past, but this year, I'm going to embrace it. I mean why not? The past is the past for a reason and you should only think of the future and what you can do to make it remarkable. :)
Ooh! I am thinking of doing posts on Wednesdays called Whatever Wednesday. These posts will be about whatever comes to mind. The weather, shoes, makeup, reading, cooking, etc. What do y'all think? Comment and let me know.
I wish everyone a good weekend! I am going to enjoy sleeping in...

It's a New Year!

January 4, 2011

I know I'm a little late in saying this, but HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! I love when a new year begins, not only because my birthday will be right around the corner (January 17th, *hint, hint*), but it's a time for a fresh start.
A chance to start over.
Make something right from something wrong (if this is the case).
To see yourself in a new light.
It's a time for change.
I will be creating a better version of myself this year. I want to be the best I can in so many ways. In order for this makeover to be completed, I had to write a list of goals. Resolutions sounds too fancy, in my opinion, and they have the tendency to not last. Goals on the other hand sound more long term, therefore, that's what I'll be making and accomplishing (hopefully).
I won't reveal every goal, because some are really personal, but I will say that my goals pertain to my physical well being, my spirituality, my mental and emotional health, and some other aspects of my life.
I want to be healthy. So far I'm good minus a spot found on my left thyroid in my PET scan results. I will be having a biopsy on my birthday. I pray it's nothing cancerous or serious. Fitness is also very important to me. This is the year that I will reach my goals. So far I've been doing really well. This is only day 4! :)
Spiritually, I am going to read my scriptures every night and that has been happening. Also, my parents and I have been reading the Book of Mormon every night together since Sunday. It's been really nice. Helps us relax after work and dinner and just spend some spiritual time together.
If you're wondering about my mental and emotional health, it's nothing like depression or anything in that category. I've been feeling really good lately and I'd like to keep that up. I just have to remind myself that Satan doesn't want us to feel happiness in any way and will do what he can in order to stop us and we have the choice to choose happiness over evil. Being positive, self-confident, and optimistic is something I want to be permanently. I'm working on that.
Well, it's getting late here in Korea so I need to do my stretches and get ready for bed.
Good night!
