Anyone who has known me for a while could tell you that I seriously dread getting older every year. I love to celebrate my birthday, but to actually turn a year older...that's a different story. Lately, I've come to accept that it's going to happen, it's a fact of life, and growing older usually means becoming wiser. :P
Today I celebrated my birthday (2 days early) with my amigas Kirra & May Chee. These girls are fabulous and fun and most of all they like to shop! Ha ha. We did our usual thing of eating together. That never fails with us. We ate lunch at Maio Maio, an Italian restaurant. I ordered the chicken fettuccine and it was delicious! The creamy sauce had a slight hint of honey mustard. A little weird, but tasty, none the less!
Here I am about to enjoy my pasta.
May Chee ordered the same thing I did.
Kirra had chili chicken salad.
My plate of deliciousness.
I seem to like restaurant napkins. I collect the ones with restaurant logos on them.
All done!
After the Italian meal, we headed out for an adventure. We went on an hour long walk in 13 degree weather. There was wind and once in a while a snowflake or two. This walk was in search of the Goodwill store. We finally found it after getting almost lost, stopping in a couple of stores, and walking some more. I did buy a cute hat in one of the stores, so that was a plus. (It's the hat I'm wearing in the photos.)
The Goodwill store turned out to be pretty lame so we got on the bus and went to Daiso! It's a great store and 99% of the time, once you go in, you buy at least one thing. Today was no different. All of us shopped! It was fun and the things in there are definitely not expensive.
By the time we were done shopping it was time for - what else? - food! So we headed back to the subway station where AK Plaza is and headed to the 5th floor. Our dinner was Korean this time. Quite yummy as well.
I ordered the spicy pork bulgolgi. Yummy!
Here's a close up of my food.
Once dinner was over, we walked to another...Daiso! Ha ha. After doing a little more shopping, we headed to Baskin Robins, next door. Kirra & May Chee bought be a delicious birthday ice cream cake! It was literally and ice cream cake with no cake in sight. Oh my goodness it was heaven!
It had New York cheesecake and chocolate ice creams inside. Oooh yeah.
With candles. The lovely ladies sang to me!
This was taken by Kirra right after the singing.
I'm about to make my wish.
Once we dug in the cake went from this...
To this...
And finally the last slice.
(This slice is dedicated to Dani who moved to Germany. We missed you.)
A group picture, of course!
Me hugging my cake box.
It was a fabulous way to celebrate!
